Our advertising neighborhood just got a whole lot better. A new advertising platform for website owners was just launched recently and based upon the stats I have seen, it is truly a game changer with unbelievable CTRs and conversion rates. After some leg work I found out a great friend of mine is actually one of the mighty brains behind this operation and Co-Founder, David Stadler. He was kind enough to give me some of his valuable time to explain El Toro, what they do and how El Toro truly is a game changer for online businesses.

- How was El Toro Formed?
I was watching Mad Men. I said to myself, “Self, I should build a bar, stock it with 300 different bottles of the best bourbon a man can find, and the advertisers will come…how hard could it be?”
- What services does El Toro Provide?
El Toro has developed a patent pending technology that allows us to map a physical mailing address to the IP(s) operating from that household or business. This has allowed our advertisers to send a list of mailing addresses that we turn into an advertising campaign enabling true 1:1 targeting within the display marketplace. We’re most excited about our new patent that allows us to target entire colleges and universities, hotels, malls, airports, and even airplanes. We have secured exclusive contracts with these Internet providers that allows us to change how people serve ads to a captive audience.
- Can anyone use them (what is your demographic regarding your services)?
Anyone can use the system given they have an understanding of their target market. Our newest service allows advertisers to select a defined subset and engage those users online.
- Do you believe El Toro is just a good idea or something that will truly be a game changer?
I’ve always known the one constant in life is that people need their offers. How else would these folks know where to spend money? With El Toro, you can actually hit a household, while online, with certainty. We have already changed the game.
- How has this project surprised you?
When your clients start showing up around 2PM to start drinking you would be surprised how productive your team can be. Building a company around the bar helped us grow so quickly, we have considered throwing another vice in the mix. Imagine what taking up smoking could do.
- What were some of the biggest challenges for you personally and for the organization when El Toro was being created?
Changing the mindset of advertisers has been challenging in that this process has not been possible until now. Online advertising has never been transparent. Through El Toro, people know the exact households they target before they serve the first impression. No other online ad agency can match your targets with actual sales. The concept is unbelievable until we get the advertisers addicted.
- What are some of the biggest challenges El Toro faces for the future?
To keep a bar like this going you really have to work with the personal trainer every morning because you can’t have exercise getting in the way of the 2-7PM “Meeting” schedule. We then have to make sure the supply of bourbon lives up to the standards our clients have come to expect.
- What is the future of El Toro?
Prior to co-founding El Toro, David was the President of Monetization at NameDrive. David joined NameDrive’s German operations before being promoted and relocating back to the United States. Prior to NameDrive, Mr. Stadler worked for ModernGigabyte where he sold enterprise billing software, eventually assuming the role of channel manager.
The genesis of David’s entrepreneurial spirit was as an undergraduate at the University of Louisville as a founding member of the Red Shirt Company. By building local reseller channels, he was able to increase the organization’s cash flows and scholarship fund before handing over the reins just prior to graduation. David graduated with honors and received a B.S. in Business Administration.
