1. If there was a movie produced about your life who would play you and why?
My twin brother, because he looks like me!
2. What songs best describe your work ethic?
The Beatle’s “A Hard Day’s Night” – the way I interpret the song is, they work hard, but it’s all for a good reason. They are working towards a better life, relationship, etc. Also, “All I Wanna Do” by Sheryl Crow. If you’re not enjoying work, it’s not worth it. Having fun and being happy is a big motivator for me.
3. A cat walks into the room wearing a leisure suit. What does he say and why is he here?
“Are you ready to party?” A cat in a leisure suit? Surely he’s looking for a fun night out on the town. There’s no other reason for a cat to be decked out in a leisure suit!
4. If you could visit any place in the World, where would you go and why?
Africa has always been on my list; I’d love to go on safari and see all the wildlife in its natural beauty. Stunning sun rises and sun sets on the Serengeti, I can’t think of anything better.
5. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Growing up in a small country/seaside town, we used to eat the abdomen of green ants. There’s not too much to them, but they have a bitter taste. Australian bush tucker. I thought it was normal, until I moved to Brisbane and everything thought I was weird.
6. What are you reading now?
I’ve just finished reading John Green’s Paper Towns. The next book I plan on reading is Girl Gone, by Gillian Flynn.
7. If you could sit and chat with any historical figure who would it be and why?
It would have to be someone who has personal meaning to me, whilst not a “historical figure” in the common sense, I would choose my Grandad. I love hearing his stories, what he went through growing up, his struggles, how he overcame them and also hearing the origins of our family.
8. What would your slogan be for your life?
“The best is yet to come…” You have to live knowing that good things are on the horizon, that despite what’s going on, better days are coming.
9. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I always said I wanted to be an astronaut or a singer in a band. What do I want to be in the future? Happy, healthy and successful (personally and professionally).
10. What is something no one knows about you?
Something that only a few people would know about me is that I am fiercely competitive when it comes to sports. Most would see me as the laid back, happy go lucky guy from Australia, but put me on a soccer field, a beach volleyball court, track and field or any sport/activity in general and I turn into a different person.
11. What piece of art have you seen that moved you?
The movie The Fault In Our Stars. For those not familiar with the book/movie, it depicts a young teen battling terminal cancer. It’s a topic that is very personal to me, having had both parents battle and beat cancer, so I did get a little emotional watching it. It’s also inspiring and uplifting in the sense of how the main character chooses to lead her life, knowing what is inevitable.
12. What was the last thing you geeked out about?
I don’t know if there’s anything I’ve geeked out over lately. I get excited when a singer or band I like releases a new album or song, or tours. Or when I get a chance to go home and visit my family and spend time with my nephews. Or when a tv show I watch returns for another season.
13. Name 5 things from your bucket list.
- Travel into Space
- African Safari
- Road trip across America or Australia (or both)
- Retire in the small seaside town I grew up in
- Learn to play guitar
14. If you could hear someone’s thoughts for one day who would it be and why?
Great question, I don’t know if I would. I definitely wouldn’t want it to be anyone I know, for fear of hearing something I didn’t want to know and that would change my perception of them. Maybe a top investment broker on Wall Street, so I can make some smart investments.
15. If you were trapped in a TV for a month what show would you choose to be in and why?
Without question, Survivor. I’ve been a fan of the show since day 1. It would be the ultimate challenge, testing myself socially, mentally and physically. I’d like to think I’d do pretty well on it too. Or Nashville. I’m obsessed with that show at the moment.
